BB Prologue and Chapter 1

Prologue:


It has been two years now since Sebastian and Ciel have traveled to America and have established themselves in the heart of New York City.  They have lived discreetly, as not to cause any commotion or stir up any unwanted visitors (grim reapers, or any other demons) for the past two years.  
With the money Ciel Phantomhive has accumulated over the past few years, they had bought a marvelous two story house in the heart of New York City.  It was nestled between several other elaborate houses along the busy streets.  They kept to themselves, living as quietly as possible and avoiding most contact with the humans surrounding them.
Sebastian, having agreed to Ciel's contract, has remained his faithful servant, loyally.  Abiding by all of his young masters wishes and carrying out any tasks asked of him.  Together they share the house, alone, with no others, only a few mice that may scurry about, but Sebastian takes care of them just as quickly as they come.
Late one evening, Ciel becomes restless, and wishes to take a stroll about the streets of New York.  Sebastian accompanies him along the streets, enjoying the brisk, cool autumn air…



Chapter 1
New Beginnings



"Sebastian, did you hear something just now?" Ciel stopped mid stride as he thought he heard a cry.
"I thought I might have just been hearing things, but it seems I was not."  Sebastian and Ciel stood silently, listening for another cry.  As moments passed nothing was heard and just as Ciel was moving to take a step they heard the cry again.
"This way!" Sebastian yelled back to his master as he hurried off behind an ally way.  Ciel followed quickly in pursuit.  He reached behind his cloak, feeling for his pistol, making sure he had brought it with him, just in case.  He had it strapped tightly into his holster.  
"Sebastian!" Ciel cried out, having lost sight of him.  He quickly came upon him at the end of the ally.  He stood in stance, ready to fight, all he needed was the word.
"What's going on here!?" Ciel demanded an answer, from the unseen attacker he had not glimpsed yet.
A horrid, evil laughter flittered up in the air and another cry followed it.
"Let her go!" Sebastian yelled.  "Master!" Sebastian turned his head back to Ciel waiting for the go.  Ciel nodded his head and removed his eye patch.
"This is an order! Save that girl!"  Ciel pointed in their direction.  In a flash, the man was sprawled across the cobblestones, his body twisted in an inhuman shape.  The girl that coward in the corner clutched at the few strips of clothing that draped her body.  She screamed out covering her eyes.  Ciel ran up behind Sebastian who hovered over the girl.  
"My Lady, are you hurt?" Sebastian bent down slowly, offering his hand to help her up.  She smacked it away and curled herself into a tight ball.  Her face was streaked in blood and tears.  Her body was a mess of jagged scars, scratches and fresh cuts.  
"Here, we must get you warmed up, quickly." Ciel said as he removed his coat and laid it upon the girls frail body.
She sniffed and tugged it up around her chin, she looked at them both, through teary eyes.
"Who are you?" she asked between soft sobs.  
"I am Ciel Phantomhive.  This is my loyal butler, Sebastian.  Tell us, what is your name?"
"I-I'm Sadie."  Ciel saw her lip tremble slightly.  He was unsure if it was from the cool air, or fright.
"We must get you home quickly.  Tell us, where do you live and we will carry you home."  Ciel offered his hand to help Sadie up.
Sadie busted into tears, pulling Ciel's cloak up around her face to hide the tears.
"Err- what is it?  Did I say something wrong?" Ciel looked to Sebastian.
"Perhaps, the young Lady does not have a home.  Is that so?" Sebastian knelt down beside her and brushed the hair from face behind her ear.  He pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and dabbed at her face.
"Is that so?" Ciel asked waiting for an answer.
Sadie looked up, a soft smile tugged at her lips as she gazed into Sebastian's eyes.  Then she nodded softly, and she collapsed into Sebastian's arms.
"Perhaps we should take her home for the night." Ciel said gritting his teeth.  He waited for Sebastian's cocky remark of him being "nice".  But Sebastian never said anything.  Only nodded his head in agreement and cradled the girl in his arms.  
"Let's go home then." Ciel said as he turned and started back down the ally.  Sebastian followed.  He gazed down at Sadie, passed out, so helplessly in his arms.  He longed for a taste of her…but knew he could not have her.  Not just yet.
